The Formula Sound Shadow standby mixer is a 4 stereo, 1 mono (MIC) channel mixer, with headphone monitoring and a crossfader in a 19” 1RU package.

The Shadow 1RU mixer can be either a standalone mixer or a backup mixer; with a flick of a switch, the Shadow can take over from the main mixer if something unforeseen should happen to prevent the main mixer from working.
 
Formula Sound has addressed this problem and created The Shadow, a dedicated low cost mixer with enough facilities to keep the music playing in an emergency or when the main mixer needs an essential service.
The complexity of technology used in entertainment venue sound and lighting systems continues to increase. Despite generally high standards of build and reliability, occasional malfunctions do occur and can have immediate and serious economic implications for the venue operator.

2 band equalisation is provided via pre-sets on the back panel, for the mic channel
A master volume control and headphone control, with associated jack socket, are also provided on the front panel
